One can only imagine the amount of pressure that’s been building on Anthony Mackie over these last few months. After all, the guy is in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and he couldn’t really tell anybody all about it. Fortunately, the big news finally broke with the movie’s poster reveal earlier this week, and that has allowed Anthony Mackie to publicly celebrate:

With eagle-eyed Marvel fans having noticed that Anthony Mackie’s name appears in the credits block on the new Avengers: Age of Ultron poster, confirming his role in the movie, the actor took to his personal Twitter page to celebrate. As you can tell, he’s pretty damn excited about his part in the blockbuster and the fact that he is bringing Sam Wilson a.k.a. Falcon back to the big screen.

Fun as it is to see how happy Mackie is here, I must admit that I am left somewhat disappointed by his simple reaction. When we spoke to the actor on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier back in 2013, he told us that he had very interesting plans for his own personal Avengers: Age of Ultron announcement. Said the actor at the time,
I hope I’m in Avengers 2. If I’m in Avengers 2, everyone will know it ’cause I’m gonna run through Times Square butt ass naked with Avengers 2 tattooed across my chest.

As far as I am aware, Anthony Mackie has not yet pulled off this rather public stunt. We’re waiting, sir!

At this point, I’m sure that many of you are curious as to what #CUTTHECHECK means, and I’m happy to report that it doesn’t mean that Mackie is looking forward to the big payday that The Avengers: Age of Ultron will likely deliver. Instead, “Cut the check” was a catch phrase that the actor used quite a bit on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier
