Supergirl ended last season on a sad note as Mon-El was forced to leave earth because of his inability to be exposed to lead. Now we know that not only is he returning for this season of Supergirl, it seems that before the season is over we are most likely going to see him suite up and become a full fledged superhero.
According to syfy.com, actor Chris Wood has said that his path in the tv series may parallel that of a similar plot line from DC Comics, where a wormhole takes Mon-El to the Phantom Zone, where he is rescued by the Legion of Superheroes (who cured him of his lead allergy) 1,000 years in the future. They also give him a flight ring, which was seen several times in the Fortress of Solitude on Supergirl. Wood then said, The whole point of this character is to watch the evolution of this character who is flawed, going from this mess into donning a cape and looking like an image of purity and heroism. For me, that’s the coolest part of the character.Looks like Kara won’t be the only person in National City wearing a cape before long. Are you stoked for Mon-El to become a costumed hero? Sound off with your thoughts AFTER THE JUMP. Supergirl returns with all new episodes on Monday, October 10th at 7pm Central on the CW.
