No James Bond adventure is complete without a little globe-hopping. When last we checked in with Spectre, the newest (and 24th, if you’re keeping score at home) Bond film, Daniel Craig was out turtlenecking it up in Austria with Léa Seydoux and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista. The new batch of official set photos from 007.com find Craig, director Sam Mendes, and the rest of the Bond team down in Mexico, where 007 is leaping across rooftops (in a really crisp suit) amidst a big holiday parade. Here’s the official description to go along with the images:

“Four images have been released from behind the scenes of Spectre in Mexico City. They feature the recreation of the Day of the Dead festival which forms part of the opening sequence, Daniel Craig as James Bond, Stephanie Sigman as Estrella and Director Sam Mendes.”

Ah ha! So that gives us another key tidbit; this Mexico sequence is actually part of the cold open of Spectre, before Bond gets really into his battle with the movie’s big bad guy (who might be Blofeld, but who knows) played by Christoph Waltz. No sign of Waltz in these photos, but you will see Mendes directing the Day of the Dead parade, as well as Stephanie Sigman as a new Bond girl named Estrella.

Truly, my detective work is on par with the best MI6 spies. Spectre opens in theaters on November 6, 2015.
