G.I.Joe ‘Sneak Peek’ and ‘Psyche-Out’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost, Today I’m checking out 2 more G.I.Joe figures from 1987. Some of the earlier years had great friendships like Dusty and Footloose, Leatherneck and Wet Suit, and Scarlett and Duke. The friendships were something I loved about the cartoon and the characters. Two characters that I don’t ever remember them being in the cartoon are Sneak Peek and Psyche-Out. I feel like these two would have been that important two man combo this year. They both were using new technology, and they both had some very unique equipment that was especially…

And if you want to leave him in there to keep him safe, that is perfectly fine. I photograph figures in action, so…

G.I.Joe ‘Law & Order’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

The G.I.Joe 1985 lineup paved the way for many unique characters for the years to come. 1987, I thought was one of the best years for joe figures and probably the first year I got a ton of the figures for Christmas. There were so many awesome characters like Fast Draw, Crystal Ball, and Techno Viper. This year also released a great lineup of vehicles like the Mamba, the Cobra Sea Ray, and the unique R/C car the Crossfire. There are so many and I’m looking to do a write up on…

G.I.Joe ‘America’s Movable Fighting Man’! By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m getting into the original G.I. Joe 12 inch figures. I’m sure many of you know the original story of how G.I. Joe came about. My Grandparents had a few G.I. Joe and Marx figures that I grew up playing with and I found great enjoyment loading up a jeep and driving these Joes around for various adventures. The original Joes came with an outfit and other outfits could be purchased to switch and make unique characters or build your army. There are tons of accessories to make a whole platoon…

Outback’s Outpost ‘G.I.Joe Bridge Layer’ By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m getting into the 1985 G.I.Joe Bridge Layer. This was a really cool vehicle when it came out. The driver Tollbooth is pretty cool, I always felt like he was never in the cartoon even though they used the Bridge Layer a good piece. This is not one that packed a lot of fire power but this does have a ton of play value. This bridge can be dropped over many obstacles and all of your vehicles can cross safely. I did not have one of these as…

‘G.I.Joe APC’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Today I’m checking out one of the best large G.I.Joe vehicles from 1983. The G.I. Joe APC was The largest vehicle from this year and one of the best all time vehicles for G.I. Joe. This did not come with a driver but did hold most of the G.I. Joes one may have acquired by 1983. I would have loved to see the classic military transport M35 style truck, but this is a pretty awesome transport. The figures sit pretty tight in the seats and there is a seat belt that holds them all…

G.I.Joe ‘Slugger’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m switching to vehicles. The 1984 G.I. Joe Slugger is one cool vehicle. This was used in the cartoon and the comics. The Slugger comes with the driver Thunder. Thunder is one of those characters I don’t remember him having a lot of lines in the cartoon but he was in a lot of them. I don’t really know a ton about him other then he drives this pretty badass vehicle. I did not have one of these as a kid, but this has always been one of my favorite vehicles.…

‘G.I.Joe Tripwire’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m getting into another classic 1983 G.I.Joe figure, Tripwire. With a name like Tormod S. Skoog your bound to end up doing something no one else wants to do. Tripwire was the mine detector and his secondary specialty is demolition. Something I’m not sure he was used for in the cartoon. Tripwire is a cool character and he really wasn’t used a ton. I think Tripwire should have been carried over a bit and maybe got an upgrade in the late eighties or nineties. Yes he had a Tiger Force figure…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘Star Wars Ewok Village’ By Mitchell Smith!

Hello gang, it’s time for our last pop-expose for the month of June. Star Wars has put out a ton of great vehicles and playsets over the years. I had very few as a kid and still own very few vintage vehicles and play sets. One that I did have as a kid was the Ewok Village. This mold was used later for the Robin Hood Sherwood forest and had some added treetops on it, but as a kid this was an awesome play set. I did not have many Star Wars…

‘G.I.Joe Snow Job’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Today I’m getting into the original G.I.Joe snowtrooper. Snow Job who was born in Rutland, VT not to far from where I grew up from, so I have been in his home town several times. Snow Job was featured many times in the early days as there were several arctic adventures and Snow Job lead the way. He was also a main character in the modern cartoons as well. Snow Job was also featured in many of the comics and has been a staple character for the G.I Joe franchise. The 1983 figure was really cool…

‘G.I.Joe Retro Line’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. There is a lot of buzz going around about a new vintage line of G.I. Joe coming. This I’m half excited for right now. I would love to see the original straight arm line up released, but if not those then maybe some of the hard to find or hard to find figures that are not discolored. The original Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow come to mind right off the bat. These would be awesome releases as Stormy is often very yellowed and the original line up are getting brittle…
