STAR WARS Cosplayer Interview with Mirage 2000!

This is the first in a series of Star Wars cosplay interviews leading up to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Today’s interview is with professional cosplayer,  Mirage 2000!

You know some people just like Star Wars, and Eric is one of those people.
He has portrayed a Rebel Fleet trooper, and a Death Star Gunner. He certainly enjoys the Star Wars universe immensely, listing it as both his favorite show and movie on his Deviant Art account. He is also a dang good prop maker.
Eric is a French Canadian, but speaks English fairly well.

First off, thank you for the interview it is pretty cool of you to want to talk about Star Wars!

1.How many blasters have you made and which ones?

I have 4 blasters. DH-17, DL-44, E-11 and BlastechA280

2. Is it more fun to be a Death Star Gunner? or a Rebel Fleet Trooper?

Play both are also interesting one than the other. It [depends on] the current situation.

3. Have you done any other Star Wars uniforms? Which ones?

No, I have only two uniforms, but I expect the coming of the new Star Wars movie to know what’s interesting.

4. Why do you love Star Wars so much? I mean the answer is pretty plain for most of us. It is a great story, but was there something that made you really like it? A personal connection?

My first television science fiction series Space was 1999. But my aunt arrived with R2-D2 figure with the release of the first film in 1977. I was immediately attracted to Star Wars and I even went to see at least twice the cinema. Since Star Wars has become my first choice. But I said that I also love Star Trek, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica 1978 Mass Effect and other series of science fiction … but Star Wars was the place of honor!

5. What characters for The Force Awakens do you like?

I’ll wait for the movie to [tell] you … but Han Solo has the first place … and he always shoots first,… and he’s a real badass! …

6. Do you want to cosplay as any of the Force Awakens characters? Since we have not seen all of them yet do you think after seeing the movie you will for sure?

I’ll tell you I’ll wait until the film so that I can really know, but the tie-fighter pilots are interesting!

7. Do you have a favorite Star Wars item on display?

Yes, Rebel fleet trooper!

8. Do you do any other cosplay?

Right now, I prepare the uniform of the Federation Star Trek, “the wrath of Khan” and that of Sheridan in Babylon 5. But, I also have historical uniforms like Compagnies Franches de la Marine (Nouvelle-France 1759) dressed companion in the woods!

9. What is the best thing that has happened at a convention?

Meet in person Jeremy Bulloch Boba alias Fett¸et dance with him. Look at this link, I [am the] uniformed rebel fleet trooper:
But, I like everything about the conventions because we act with the public and we have fun like crazy while [having fun with] people! ….

10. Did you make your uniforms just like your blasters?

No, but I would say that over 30% of the equipment was purchased on E-bay or other services

11. Who is your favorite Star Wars character?

Han Solo!… Because it’s a real badass that always shoots first … and last! YEAAAAH!…

12. If you had a jet pack like Jango or Boba Fett, what would you do with it?

Many things I have to say, but fly like Rocketer is one … for fun! …

Thanks Eric for answering some questions about Star Wars and cosplay, do you have anything to add?

May de Force Be with you, Long life and prosper and many, many other quotes of the best films and series of science fiction!
