THE POP EXPOSE – Barbie Hits The Big Screen!

Well hello everyone. Today I’m taking a look at something that has been around for over 6 decades. There have been over 1 Billion toys sold, many animated movies and now Barbie has a live action movie come this July. I did not grow up with Barbies in my household but when I had children of my own many a Barbies ealked through my door .
Many hours were spent watching cartoons and now the live action movie will bring Barbie to life. Without Barbie there may not have ever been GI Joe. As stated in the series “The Toys That Made Us”, GI Joe was created to introduce a toy line aimed at boys. Barbie was super successful but limited to girls, so the GI Joe 12 in action figure was born. Today GI Joe and Barbie remain 2 of the most popular toy lines of our time. GI Joe has had its fair share of live action films, so it was only a mater of time before we got Barbie.
Now I’m not saying I’m excited to rush off to the theater especially as it will most likely be filled with thousands of little screaming kids, but for the sake of a daddy daughter bonding day I would go see it with my now young adult daughter. This could be an entertaining movie, so I won’t hesitate to go with my daughter when this hits theaters in a couple weeks. Have a great week everyone. Do you plan on seeing Barbie in the theater?
