The POP-EXPOSE

THE POP EXPOSE – The 1994 ‘Street Fighter’ Movie!

Hello everyone. Today I’m rolling back the dial to 1994. This was a great year for me. I was a senior in high school we did a high peaks climb and 8 out of my graduating class went to New Orleans for the week. Then I started college in the fall and that would change my life forever. 1994 also posted a little gem called Street Fighter. I’m not sure if this was the first live action movie based on a video game but I think it was one of the first.

I was a huge Jean-Claude Van Damme fan from the Bloodsport movie and honestly I had never watched this movie till this weekend. This was in the dwarf days of CGI, so the special effects were all old school. As you probably know the Street Fighter characters had a toy line and a GI Joe toy line. I do have a bunch of these and I was excited to see all those characters come to life.

There was a hint of a GI Joe feel to the movie and I loved that aspect of it. Over all this is one of those movies that probably gets lost in the shuffle but it is a great movie. Lots of action and some politics but it brought all of the characters to life for me. Who loves this movie? Who has not watched this yet? If not time to check it out.
