According to Deadline, Fox are moving ahead on the X-Men spin-off starring Gambit and have hired Robocop scribe Josh Zetumer to pen the screenplay. After being strongly rumoured and confirming that he was in talks, Channing Tatum is finally officially attached to star in the movie. You have to imagine that we’ll see him make his debut in X-Men: Apocalypse, but there’s no mention of that from the trade. Tatum is also producing with is Free Association partner Reid Carolin, and X-Men vets Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg. One of the most exciting parts of this news is the fact that the screenplay is based on a treatement written by legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont, the man who created the character alongside Jim Lee in 1990! Plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being however.
