Andy Serkis’ mystery role in The Avengers 2 trailer may have revealed a connection with the Black Panther.
Serkis, who is more known for his CGI work, appeared in the trailer possibly resembling the Black Panther villain, The Klaw.
In the Marvel Comics, the Klaw is known as “Ulysses Klaw,” however, a quick look at IMDb (sometimes reliable) reveals there will be a character by the name of “Klaue” who appears to be the leader of a band of mercenaries.
Actually in the comics, The Klaw was a physicist who worked in applied sonics – and get this – stole the fictional metal vibranium, which is only available in the fictional Marvel African country of Wakanda.
T’Chaka, the king of Wakanda, then goes after The Klaw where he gets killed.
T’Chaka’s son, T’Challa, then goes after The Klaw seeking revenge, which leads to T’Challa becoming the new Black Panther.
It’s been speculated that a Black Panther movie is among the recently announced untitled Marvel Studios movies; Stan Lee has also stated Black Panther is being developed. We can also add Ultron has an interest in vibranium as in the comics his metal skin is composed of a similar fictiontal metal (as is Cap’s shield). Editor’s note: Adamantium doesn’t exist in the MCU. Ultron sought out a form of vibranium called NuForm.
