G.I.Joe ‘Cobra Devastator’ Discussion with Mitchell Smith!
Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out the 1989 G.I.Joe Cobra Devastator. This was released in a lineup of some great vehicles like the Crusader, Condor, and the Hiss 2. I had 2 out of 3 of those as a kid but never had the Devastator. Recently I found one at the local farmers market and picked it up even though it is missing the missiles and antenna it looked cool and had the G.I. Joe name.
This may be small but I put a figure in the drivers seat and wow it really popped for me. Bigger isn’t always better. This is just a really cool looking small vehicle. The Cobra Hovercraft is kind of the counterpart to the Devastator but I’m not sure about tracking that one down, then again I never realized how cool the Devastator was either.
I’m happy I found this and it makes me appreciate some of the later vehicles that I never had as a kid. Did anyone have this one as a kid? What is your take on the smaller vehicles? Please sound off below and share your thoughts with us. Make sure to check back on our next discussion.
Oh, I loved this lil thing. My only complaint is that it should’ve been an Iron Grenadier vehicle. If I remember correctly I had two of them (and then a third, one a friend decided he didn’t want) at one point.
