G.I. Joe Underappreciated Featuring ‘Crystal Ball’!

Welcome to the Outpost. Happy New Year. I hope everyone enjoyed my favorite G.I.Joe figures discussions. Thanks to our fearless leader for having the idea of highlighting some under appreciated characters in the franchise. I will be going through some of my favorite under appreciated characters, feel free to give me suggestions on which ones you feel are under appreciated. I’m going to start the list with a cool character from 1987. Crystal Ball is a character everyone always seems to cut down.
I’m not sure why. I had this figure as a kid and I thought he was a cool figure. He made a perfect villain. Being able to read minds and hypnotize people would have been an advantage to Cobra. I picture Duke and Shipwreck being interrogated and Polly being the one to spill useless information to Cobra.
I don’t think Crystal Ball ever made it into an animated series and I didn’t have any comics growing up mainly because I couldn’t read, so I don’t have much to go on accept the figure and his file card. I like the uniqueness of the figure but I seem to have lost his shield. Steven King and his son are said to be the influence behind this figure, and I think it would be a great idea if the old Hasbro team got back together and told how some of these characters came to be. Over all I think Crystal Ball is a solid figure and I’m glad I had him as a child. What do you think about the Crystal Ball Figure? Let us know in the comments!
