G.I. JOE UNDERAPPRECIATED FEATURING ‘SCOOP’!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out A G.I. Joe character from 1989, Scoop. Scoop was a figure I had as a kid and was one of my favorites. Some might think he is not Joe material because he holds a video camera instead of a rifle, but he proved himself various times in the cartoon. He was working as a spy for Cobra when he learned Cobra had lied to him and joined the Joes.
Recently I’ve been watching the WWII documentary “Five Came Back”. The footage they took and brought home proved to be beneficial for people to understand what the soldiers had been through. Cameras were later used in Vietnam, the Gulf War, and all other conflicts through the past 8 decades. Scoop may come across as weak or cowardly, but then again he is standing out there with a camera not a gun. This is a solid figure and will always be one of my favorites. Who had a Scoop figure as a kid? Who still has his mic? I lost mine. Make sure to check back on our next discussion.
