There has been tons of rumors and evidence that the Hulk will be appearing in Captain America: Civil War. There have even been photos of him on set for the Captain America threequel but it looks like the green goliath won’t be appearing after all. As Mark Ruffalo delivered some bad news and set us straight. Hulk was coming out of Civil War…But he got cut. Here’s what Mark Ruffalo had to say on the matter to the italian website Bad taste, translated by Comicbook.com.

Because it’s still missing is not known where. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end evidently believe that reveal what happened Hulk is something too big, and Marvel wants to use this information later. My character had been inserted in the script, but then it was taken away. Who knows, maybe Hulk will never return. However, they want to keep the revelation of what happened a secret, because it is something really big.

Superhero Hype also translated the original information in a more “cleaned” up version which can be read below.

The reason is too great to be revealed in this movie (Civil War),” Ruffalo tells BadTaste.it. “I was in the script but then they removed my character. They don’t want to reveal where is he and why. I don’t even know if Hulk will be back soon.
