G.I.Joe

MY FAVORITE G.I.JOE FROM 1994 – STORY BY MITCHELL SMITH!

Welcome to the Outpost. 1994 was the year I graduated and went off to college. G.I. Joe was well into my rear view mirror so far I couldn’t see it any longer. Obviously I had not forgotten it, but it was in the past. It was actually not even a Joe that got me collecting again, it was a Han Solo figure I found at a flea market in Vermont for 1 dollar. It was the best and worse dollar I ever spent. 1994 was going to be the end of the Joe line, at least for a couple years.

There was a small lineup but still some great characters. Gears, Effects, and Predacon all topped my list as awesome new characters. Dial Tone, Flint, and Shipwreck all had really cool versions this year. Cobra Commander, Metal Head, and Major Bludd also had cool versions of original characters. The one figure that really stood out to me is Space Shot. I love the removable helmet, and he looks kind of like a space admiral to me. Overall I think this is a year with a lot of great figures and it may have been a necessary evil for the Joe line to halt, and take a little R&R from an extraordinary run. As we all know G.I. Joe didn’t die and is still popular in todays world. Who is your favorite 1994 figure? Please let your choices be heard below in the comments.
