Remembering The Legend Quincy Jones!

Hello everybody today we look back at an American Icon who passed away November 3, 2024. Quincy Delight Jones Jr., best known as Quincy Jones, is a towering figure in the music industry, a multi-talented composer, arranger, producer, and conductor whose career has spanned over seven decades bringing home 28 Grammy Awards and a Grammy Legend Award. Born on March 14, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, Jones’s contributions have shaped the landscape of jazz, pop, and film music, making him one of the most influential musical figures of the 20th and 21st centuries. Jones grew up in a racially segregated America and his early years were filled with hardship.

His family moved to Seattle, when he was young, and it was there that he found his passion for music. Initially interested in the trumpet, Jones took an interest in jazz and began working as an arranger while still in his teens. Jones’s breakthrough as a pop producer came in the 1970s when he worked with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, and Ray Charles. Jones worked with Michael Jackson on his 1979 album, Off the Wall, Bad, and Thriller which became a cultural phenomenon. In addition to his work in music,

Jones has made significant contributions to film and television. He scored numerous films and was a pioneering figure in television, producing The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
