The POP-EXPOSE ‘Disney’s Cars’ by Mitchell Smith!

Cars is one of my all time favorite Pixar movies. Wonderfully done and I hold a special place in my heart for Mr. Paul Newman. Cars is one of those movies I can relate to. I grew up in a small town, and if you have never lived in a small town it is so unique. There is just one gas station, one restaurant, one of each kind of person depicted by the Cars characters. Sometime we had to make our own fun much like staring at the flashing stop light, as kids we found amusement in little things. One of the highlights in my small town was getting tractor trailers to blow their air horn.
We never went tractor(cow) tipping either because we didn’t have any cows in our town. We were a small town that had thrived during the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, a neighboring town that had lots of through traffic from interstate 87 to the Olympic village. Things dried up a little after the winter games ended, but every once in a while someone famous would pass through. Back in 1989 I was working at a gas station, back when you pulled into a gas station and said “filler up Mitch”, and you got a fill up and your windows washed.
Anyhow, I’m sitting there with the bosses wife, poor lady she was not attractive at all, and this limo pulls up. Who gets out Paul Newman. What a great guy not like Lightning McQueen in the movie, Paul was much like Doc, very humble and kind, I think I got a generous tip that day too. OK back to the movie.Cars became an instant classic with die cast cars, playsets, pillows, pjs, and everything else that comes along with marketing these days. What a great message Cars has though. Winning doesn’t always mean you finish first, sometimes it means respecting and listening to your elders because they have already lived what you are living, and it never hurts to help and old man finish the race.
