THE POP EXPOSE ‘G.I. Joe 6″ Scale Vehicle Wish List’ By Mitchell Smith!

G.I. Joe has always had a lineup of vehicles to support the figure lines. The 12 inch line has had various vehicles over the past 55 years. Various jeeps, tanks, and many other smaller vehicles that went very well with the 12 inch figures. When the 3-3/4 inch line hit in 1982 the vehicles were a huge part of the success of this line. Some of the vehicles are more of a character then the character. There was such a huge range of vehicles ranging from small vehicles like the RAM to massive vehicles like the USS Flagg.
It was this great range of vehicles that made G.I. Joe so successful. So now the figure that is in the middle of the two should have a vehicle or 2. With the speculated first wave of characters my first choice of vehicles to compliment the character would be some sort of motorcycle. A Silver Mirage or maybe a new design of a modern bike. I think that would be cool. I think the smaller vehicles would have to come first, a Manta or a Falcon Glider would maybe be cool and reasonably prices. I like the 6 inch scale, obviously the price will be the hardest thing for people to commit to for collecting and/or buying for their children on this line. If there is a good deal of success I’m hoping to see more characters and some larger vehicles.
These are a few vehicles that I think would sell and be at a reasonable price at retail. First I would love to see the Devilfish and the Night Landing. I think these would be price friendly and would sell with the release of the Eel and Wet Suit figures. Next up on my list is the Ferret, this would be a great signature vehicle and the mold could be used to make a Tiger Paw or a newly named 4 wheeler for the Joe side. This is an awesome vehicle and it would fit in with the 6 inch line perfectly.
Next up on my list would be the Vamp and Stinger. These are signature vehicles and this could be reasonably priced and I think these would fly off the shelves. The Fang seems a logical vehicle for some air power, this is a nice signature vehicle and would be just the right size, but I think they could do something a little bigger for the Joe side. I’m thinking a Ghost Hawk, Dragonhawk, or maybe a Skystorm I think these could be small enough to keep the price reasonable and look awesome in a 6 inch scale.
For a large vehicle I would love to see a Snow Cat I think this one would sell just because of how great a vehicle it is and a Wolf to compliment. For the first waves though, I think they would have to stick to smaller vehicles or play sets like the Jump or something like an outpost or firing range to see how well this line will take off. It could just be a pipe dream though as other 6 inch lines such as Marvel and Star Wars do not have any vehicles that I know of to support the figures. G.I. Joe would be enhanced with some vehicles for the figures, but I don’t think we will see vehicles in the near future.
It may be just left alone and maybe a restart for the 3-3/4 inch line that could definitely release some of the classic vehicles in a modern style. It will be interesting to see where this leads to, but for now I’m just happy to hear G.I. Joe is coming back to retail.
