THE POP EXPOSE – Tom Brady Retires or Does He?

Extra Extra read all about it, Tom Brady is retiring!!! Do I even need to say which Brady? Tom Brady is the most accomplished NFL quarterback of all time. Love him or hate him there is no denying his records, his rings, or is work ethic. Back in the day I was a huge Pats fan. Back before Brady was a household name. When Brady was playing at Michigan, Drew Bledsoe was my boy and front man for the Pats. Long story short my second family growing up invited me to Giants vs Pats game. I was sitting in the Giants section but silently routing for the Pats and got a bunch of autographs, including Bledsoe.

He signed my program book, turned and said sorry guys no more autographs today. It was a cool moment in my life. Sadly he never won a Super Bowl and a few years after an unknown QB came into the league and took over. Brady would spend the next 20 some years posting playoff win after playoff win. Soon it seemed like it was who will face the Pats and Brady this year in the Super Bowl? When he announced that he was leaving the Pats everyone said finally someone else will get a chance, but wouldn’t you know he led the Tampa Bay Bucs to yet again, another Super Bowl win. This year the Bucs started off a bit slow and ended up finishing 1-1 with a walk off field goal.

Saturday There was some confusion on whether Brady announced his retirement or if he was still in limbo on the subject. Brady who was seen having some break down tantrums on the field this year has accomplished so much and although still better then half of today’s young quarterbacks, would appear to have earned a graceful retirement and go out on top of his game even thought he did not win this year. If he did decide to ride out the storm and slowly fade away like many other QBs have done in the past, he could hang around another 10 years as a back up and mentor to the next up and coming star.

So if Brady does decide to call it quits he will be long remembered and an era or two will come to a close as the young talent take over and start the next legacy. Brady may or may not be done playing but I see him getting into coaching or commentating. I don’t see someone with so much passion for the game retiring and disappearing from the game. It may be the end of the chapter but not the end of the book. All hail The Goat, Mr. Tom Brady.
