THE POP EXPOSE – Remembering He-Man Figure Designer T. Mark Taylor!

Hello everyone I hope you all had a great holiday. T. Mark Taylor passes away at age 80. Taylor is responsible for Creating The He-Man action figure. When Taylor sat down at the drawing table in the early eighties he was faced with a huge task, coming up with something fresh and unique that would rival franchises such as Star Wars and G.I.Joe the 2 leading action figures of the time and perhaps of our time.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was not one I collected as a kid, it was a bit past my time but my mother babysat a kid who loved them and he would bring them all over every day. The design was very unique and the figures are pretty well balanced for the bulk and weight of the figures. I ended up with a handful of the originals myself about 8 years ago and these are really cool and it is no surprise these became a huge hit and are still around today.

Taylor who also had a hand in TMNT was a master in his own right. He came up with 1 super design that exploded from his mind onto the entire world. I do enjoy the original figures and I also have picked a few of the modern ones as well. RIP Mr. Taylor your legacy will live on for years to come.
