Why Metal Gear Solid Makes a Flawless Crossover with the Classified Line By Destro Designs – Viper Den Studios Metal Gear Solid — the original PlayStation classic. Artwork: Konami. By now, there is a good chance you’ve heard me wax poetic about my love for the Metal Gear franchise. When I was in my late teens and into my early 20s, it brought me back to gaming and was pivotal in keeping me there. Also, credit to SOCOM: Navy SEALs and Ghost Recon, and, of course, Splinter Cell. But MGS…

By Destro Designs-Viper Den Studios Of all the amazing moments that came from NYCC, a certain has sorta gotten lost in the shuffle.I heard from the Horses mouth that Ambush is coming to the Classifed line. Ambush has been my #1 Most Wanted In Classifed Since Hit N Run was announced, as he was my #1 previous.Ambush is such amazing figure, and was integral to keeping my collecting and playing my Joes as late as I was. When Ambush hit the 3¾ line, I had a half a foot out…

By Destro Designs – Viper Den Studios So, you’ve most likely heard me talk about my recent trip to New York Comic Con, either on my Saturday show or with my brother Mark on the Monday show. But there are a few more angles to this adventure that I want to get into. You see, I have history in the City. Back in my 20s, I knew people scattered throughout New York City and the surrounding area, mostly in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and out on Long Island. I used to make…

I’m ready to get in the car. Now I just need Thursday to get here. For the first time, I’m heading to one of the biggest conventions around as Destro Designs – Viper Den Studios, and saying I’m excited would be a massive understatement. New York Comic Con 2026 takes place October 8–11 at the Javits Center…

My final installment in this series of G.I. Joe sub-team articles hits today. The Hasbro team has done such an excellent job creating new characters that fit so well into the lore while also turning out to be outstanding figures. I absolutely love it. Wolf Spider is my favorite new figure, but there are plenty of great ones. When it comes to the D.I.R.E. Tech crew, though, there’s also some reuse of older parts and designs—and it works incredibly well. When Crystal Ball first came out, I was a little…

By R.A. Rayne I have rewritten this opening a half dozen times now. I knew when I sat down to write this article it would be rough, but I never realized how freeing it would be. Call it luck, divine intervention, or just perfect timing, but this past week Destro Is My Spirit Animal gave us a chance to look at ourselves instead of the world of G.I. Joe. Recently, Mark Fogarty posted a YouTube video on his Destro Is My Spirit Animal channel, where he candidly discussed his experience…

By Destro Designs-Viper Den Studios Everyone knows how I feel about Python Patrol, especially after the previous article. It’s an incredible extension of the Cobra side of the battle and is super indicative of Cobra itself. But without question, my number one favorite G.I. Joe sub-team is Night Force. The team itself is based around a super-elite squad that handles the things that go bump in the night. They conduct operations so important and so sensitive that they have to use the cover of darkness. Bane can think he owns…

By Destro Designs and Viper Den Studios G.I. Joe Python Patrol is probably the sub-team that nails the concept in such a fantastic way. Cobra is already such a crazy-awesome name for the bad guys, and it has one of the coolest symbols in all the land. So, in order to have a sub-team worthy of Cobra, I feel like staying within the snake family is the best way to go. A python is deadly as hell and has a rather unique pattern—even among a species filled with unique patterns.…

For many fans who grew up in the 1980s, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and Star Trek: The Next Generation occupied completely different corners of their imagination. One was a world of laser fire, masked villains, and elite special missions. The other explored diplomacy, exploration, and humanity’s future among the stars. Yet, thanks to two legendary performers, those worlds became more connected than most fans ever realized. The bridge between Cobra Island and the USS Enterprise wasn’t built with phasers or F.A.N.G. helicopters. It was built by Chris Latta…

By Destro Designs–Viper Den Studios I’ve had many nicknames throughout my life, and well into my twenties, one of them was “Jesus.” I’ll tell you why. My parents were teenagers when I was born, so they both still lived with their parents. My mom lived in an upper-middle-class home up on the hill, while my dad lived in a flat down in the ’Burgh. They were both so young, and my mom’s parents were pretty strict, so they didn’t tell anyone she was pregnant. However, legend has it that my…

By Destro Designs – Viper Den Studios This last week I saw so much ’80s toy content in my timeline that I couldn’t help but think we had it so, so good. People have been saying it for years, and to a certain extent that’s exactly why Stranger Things became such a phenomenon. The show absolutely nailed what it felt like to grow up in the 1980s. Honestly, the early ’90s were just an extension of the ’80s—with worse clothes and, largely, worse music. The thing that really got me…
