The POP-EXPOSE

AKA Charlie Sheen, Now on Netflix!

Charlie Sheen has a new Netflix series called “aka Charlie Sheen”. Over the years I really have loved Sheen’s work and nobody can deny he exploded onto the big screen and was one of the most popular eighties, nineties, and 2000’s stars. Fame did not come without consequences as Charlie battled drugs, alcohol, divorces, and an extremely inflated ego. This Netflix series dives into his childhood and growing up on the set of many of his father, Martin Sheen’s films. He and his brothers most notably Emilio Esteves and close childhood friend Sean Penn grew up emulating their father’s work by making home movies with the old 8mm camera. It was no wonder they all went into acting but even at a young age they were able to experiment with drugs and alcohol which ended up taking Charlie down a shaky path once he was in Hollywood.

Flash forward to 60 year old Sheen, now older and wiser. He does not hold back on his early days and highlights his life and acknowledges his mistakes as an adult. It was his path and he did things most people would have probably died from years ago but not Charlie, he somehow made it through and now lives to tell the tale of the whirlwind of the ups and downs of his life. I really can’t think of anything acting wise Charlie did bad.

He just had so many great movies and shows and this series really brings his childhood and adulthood to life and enlightens how he could go down a destructive path of drugs and alcohol, despite having all the fame and fortune. It’s a great series and you can check it out on Netflix right now. Have a great week everyone.
