The CW has announced that actor Chris Wood will not be returning next season as the popular character, ‘Mon-El‘. But as things usually go in the Arrowverse, that does not mean we won’t see him pop up from time to time. Check out more details on this story below and share your thoughts AFTER THE JUMP. Supergirl moves to Sunday evenings this fall on The CW.
Executive Producer Robert Rovner says,“The plan for Chris was always to have him on the show for two years. We’ve loved telling Mon-El’s story, as well as the story we’ve told for him and Kara. We hope the fans felt that it was a satisfying conclusion.”
Executive Producer Jessica Queller adds, “They both have destinies in different times as heroes. What they did was the sort-of Casablanca decision of putting what’s most important to them — which is saving the world — first. It’s a little bittersweet that one destiny is to be a hero in this time and one’s destiny is to run the Legion in another time, but I think they grew a lot from knowing one another.”
As always though with the DC Arrow-verse shows, Chris Wood’s exit does not mean that Mon El is gone forever as the finale leaves the door open for the Daxam prince to return to National City.
