Another Caped Crusader Adventure In 2013?
In 2009 ,a new developer called Rocksteady jumped on the gaming scene with wth the 8.5 out of 10 Batman Arkham Asylum. Two years later they followed that up with their 10 out of 10 masterpiece Batman Arkham City.As reported last year the next Batman game was rumored to be set during the Silver Age,many assumed that with the pattern of a two year development cycle that the third game would most likely be in 2014 on the next generation of consoles.Looks like that was a bad assumption….Warner Bros. Interactive announced today that a new adventure for the Caped Crusader is slated for a 2013 release!
“We also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise,” he said. “So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.”
Witht the next generation of game consoles rumored to hit this fall,we still have to speculate if this will be a swan song game for the current systems,a launch game for the new hardware being released,or both. Also , will be very interesting to see if there will be two development teams pitch hitting every other year so the studio can get out a yearly Batman adventure ala Assassins Creed.Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Warner Bros. Interactive is preparing the release of another Batman Arkham game. According to a company executive, that new game is slated for 2013.
John Martin, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer at Warner mentioned the game during an investor call.“[W]e also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise,” he said. “So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.”
That opens the doors to some healthy speculation. Is he talking about the rumored Batman game from a while back that’s set during the Silver Age? Could it be associated with one of the domain names that Warner registered last month?
VG247 cites unnamed sources who say that Rocksteady isn’t working on the next Batman game. Could we be looking at something resembling the Call of Duty model, where Activision has two teams alternating between annual releases? If something is indeed coming this year, we’ll be hearing more details soon enough.
