Capt. Stacy Returns in Amazing Spiderman 2?

Some very interesting shots emerged yesterday from the set of Amazing Spider-Man 2. These pictures show a ravaged Capt. Stacy who was presumed dead at the end of Amazing Spider-Man 1. Check out the skinny below and share your thoughts after the JUMP!

Tenacious photographers have managed to capture a few exciting moments from “The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s” set as it films in New York City, ranging from a first look at Paul Giamatti as the Rhino, to another big potential spoiler. Photos from yesterday’s work day are more in the latter category than the former, as they reveal something that, honestly, I don’t think anyone’s yet considered.

Due to the spoilery nature of these photos, they’re hidden after the jump.

So I guess you’re not troubled by spoilers, huh? You think you’re quite tough, don’t you? Well, are you tough enough to survive an attack from the Lizard? Because it looks like…

… Captain Stacy was!

Yes, that’s Denis Leary apparently reprising his role from the first “Spider-Man” film. You may remember him from the first film as the guy whose funeral you watched, so obviously things have gotten a little bit better for him. He is a bit bloody in these photos, and his role in the film could be part of a dream sequence or flashback. This is not concrete evidence that Captain Stacy has escaped death’s icy grip, it’s just concrete evidence that we’re getting a bit more Leary in the sequel.

And that’s pretty great.
