Snake Eyes: G.I.Joe Origins ‘Scarlett’ Basic Figure Reviewed!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , 0 comment

Review by Mitchell Smith Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out the 6 inch basic Scarlett from the Snake Eyes: G.I.Joe Origins movie line. This is a solid figure. She has a bit of a baby face but it doesn’t look bad in my opinion. She comes with her signature crossbow which consists of the trigger 2 knives that snap onto the side and the bow that snaps into place snugly. Looking ahead anyone looking to get the 6 inch classified Storm Shadow next year but would like him…

G.I.Joe ‘M.M.S.’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out an original G.I.Joe 1982 M.M.S. I don’t normally collect boxes but I picked this one up because this was the very first G.I. Joe vehicle I ever had. Hawk did not get popular until he became General Hawk in 1986, another awesome figure, but I had formed a love for Hawk back on the special Christmas day when I received this set with Hawk. My brothers and I received a lot of the 82 vehicles and figures but this one has always…

G.I.Joe 2021 ‘H.I.S.S III’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out the 2021 G.I.Joe Hiss III. This is a straight up repaint of the 2020 but it does look pretty cool in blue. I particularly love what they did to the tracks, I’m not sure if they did this on any other Hiss tank, but it really makes the vehicle pop. I thought about getting some outside pics of this but it rained and it was to sloppy to try, but I’m sure this would look awesome with some real background. Either way…

G.I.Joe ‘Tele Viper’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m getting into a great 1985 character the G.I.Joe Cobra Tele-Viper. The Tele-Vipers were used a lot in the animated series and probably the comics but I’m not sure about that. The original figure is pretty cool and I recently picked up my first 1985 figure that is in pretty great shape. There is also a Python Patrol version that looks great. There are a few 2000 versions which 2005 is a great one and the modern style 2008 version is really cool and came…

G.I.Joe ‘Cobra Trubble Bubble’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. As I have said many times before G.I.Joe has always had awesome vehicles. 1985 was a great year and one small Cobra vehicle really took off. The Cobra Flight Pod aka Trubble Bubble, is one of my favorite small vehicles. This was a really cool concept vehicle and actually had a canopy to supply a bit of protection for the pilot. I never had one of these as a kid but somehow I ended up with a 1985, 2008 white version and the 2010 version. These…

G.I.Joe ‘NIGHT LANDING’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. G.I.Joe has always had pretty awesome vehicles. The eighties gave us some really spectacular vehicles like the Rolling Thunder, Defiant space shuttle, and the USS Flagg. Bigger is not always better, so there were also a ton of small vehicles to create a world of your own. The 1985 Cobra Night Landing was a small vehicle that packed a huge punch. I did have this one as a kid, but I did not have any Eels so a lot of the time I had Torpedo and…

G.I.Joe ‘Renegades’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. I had a chance to binge watch the 2011 G.I.Joe Renegades series. I have watched a few episodes here and there and this was the first time I sat and watched all 26 episodes. Overall I thought this was well done. They took classic characters tweaked their backgrounds and personalities and created something fresh and modern. Me personally I am old school and I love the originals as they are, but I was able to get into this and appreciate the characters with a modern upgrade.…

G.I.Joe ‘Mauler’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m talking about a 1985 G.I.Joe vehicle that I did not have as a kid but I really wanted one. Years later I found one almost complete without the box and I was overjoyed that day. The G.I.Joe Mauler is an awesome tank. The Mobat was awesome and used a lot in the animated series as well as the comics so the Mauler had a tall order to fill and it came through with flying colors. This is such a great piece and it too…

New G.I.Joe Construction Sets – Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m talking about new G.I.Joe construction ‘Lego style’ sets, which are not truly Legos but it sounds better than calling them ‘building blocks’. I found these at Ollie’s and they were very inexpensive. I’m not a big Lego guy but my son has been hitting me up for Star Wars Legos lately and honestly they are really expensive, so when I found these a light bulb went off and this was my chance to draw him into G.I.Joe. I have tried over the years and…

G.I.Joe ‘Alpine’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Summer is quickly coming to a close and things are getting busy again. So I’m getting back to a fan favorite G.I.Joe character that was in a lot of the animated episodes and has been a staple character over the years, ‘Alpine‘. Alpine is part of the “hey day” 1985 lineup. The mountaineer was a character I could relate to growing up in the high peak mountains. Alpine was one I did not have as a kid but he had a really cool and unique look.…
