G.I.Joe ‘Firefly’ Discussion with Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a G.I.Joe character that weaves into many stories. Firefly was a staple character in the original cartoon and his original figure was unique and popular right from the get go. Firefly played into the murder of the Hard Master, there was a lot of debate back in the day on how much he was involved in the whole deal. Firefly had many interesting versions over the years including 2 very green versions in the nineties.

There were several modern 25th versions with lots of cool gear and cool outfits. The modern V25 movie version would kind of be cool in an O-ring figure if Hasbro decides to go that route. Firefly got a little different story in Sigma6 series. He started out a good guy and key member of the Joe team. The Sigma6 figures didn’t make it very many years but they are a cool line of figures in a simpler time. In 2003 there was an interesting 12 inch version of Firefly.

It was not the classic style but a whole new hi tech kind of figure. There was a really cool Sideshow 12 inch that I passed on mostly because of the price, I just couldn’t justify it, even though they are really cool and realistic. Finally there is a really cool 6 inch figure with cool gear. Some of those such as myself who could not get their hands on this figure subbed in the Fortnight Havoc figure. This one is slightly taller so one might have to position him just right for pics. Over all this is a great staple character in the G.I. Joe universe. Who loves Firefly? Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
