G.I. JOE INSIDE THE FILECARDS FEATURING ‘MAJOR BLUDD’

Major Bludd is listed as “Terrorist” for his PMS and “Weapons and Tactics” for his SMS. It states he got initial training while serving in the Australian Special Air Service (equivalent to the British SAS and USA Delta Force). Later he joined the French Foreign Legion. SO the question remains did he start out in the ASAS as an officer, or as enlisted and maybe worked his way to an officer? Or did he go to the FFL as enlisted and worked his way up to an officer or was already an officer?
I need to do some digging on requirements for going the officer route in both militaries. I do think, though, he did not get his eye wound until either after his time in the Legion or during it. Maybe he sustained it during service with the Legion and was forced to retire. Then feeling the need to continue down a military path due to having no other skills relatable to the civilian world he became a mercenary. His war crimes in Rhodesia and Libya may have started to happen with his time in service to the Legion and by the time he retired from there they had enough evidence to convict him (which by that time he went underground).
I thought I read someplace that anyone serving in the legion would get French citizenship, but not sure how many years one has to serve. If Bludd did serve enough years he could have a dual Australian/French citizenship. However since he committed war crimes maybe the French would have revoked his citizenship there?
