G.I.Joe ‘Scrap Iron’ Through The Years!

Story by Mitchell Smith
Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a G.I. Joe figure that my brother had back in the day, but much like most of the early Joe days my brother got it and I had my fair share of playing with it, so I won’t complain. Scrap Iron was one of the early Cobra Villains voiced by Micheal Bell. He was sharpe looking and had a cool missile launcher. He was one of Cobra Commander’s earliest faithful members.
Although he did not have many versions he has stayed a staple character and the original design has pretty much been his look from start to finish. I tried to make a custom 12 inch version but it hasn’t come together yet. I’m not sure why he got skipped but then again not sure why the Twins never got a 12 inch version either. So, any-hoot, 6 inch classified looks great. Classic look with a modern mobile missile launcher.
Scrap Iron’s helmet comes off to reveal a guy who has seen some action and has put himself on the line for Cobra more than a few times. I know he is a bad guy but this figure shows how loyal Scrap Iron is. If anyone love’s Classified figures and was on the fence about this one, go out and get him, this is an awesome figure. It makes me want to hunt down all the comics with him in it, and read up on his story.
Back in the day there was controversy on who killed the Soft Master. Scrap Iron was in the mix but nobody knew for sure. Who had Scrap Iron as a kid? Who has loved this character from the start?
