Vanity Fair recently had the chance to pick actor Hugh Jackman’s brain on the third solo Wolverine film. With the last solo Wolverine film just a few months behind us and production already moving forward for the third installment, many will be quite surprised to hear that Jackman may not even do the film!
““I dont know whether or not I will do this next movie. I am really proud of (The Wolverine) and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride. Thats exciting, to see what we come up with but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesnt reach those, I wont be doing it.”
On one hand, I understand the logic for an actor who wants to move on from a character he has been playing since 2001. On the other hand, it is very rare in Hollywood that a actor absolutley nails a iconic character. Jackman just might be the greatest actor to play a legendary comic icon. Here is to hoping we see him a few more times…and “if” we do, make sure you appreciate that moment in the theatre of watching Hugh Jackman working his Wolverine magic one more time.
