Ian McDiarmid Confirms No Emperor in Star Wars: Rogue One!


It looks as if, while we are going to see Darth Vader in Star Wars: Rogue One, we will not be seeing the leader of the Empire, ‘Emperor Palpatine‘. Actor Ian McDiarmid, who has played the Emperor every time he has appeared on the big screen, has stated that the Emperor will not be appearing in Rogue One. This is a bit of a disappointment as even a cameo would have been very exciting for fans. Would you have liked to see the Emperor in Star Wars: Rogue One? Let us know your opinions AFTER THE JUMP! “I don’t feature in that myself, but I understand that Darth Vader may be making an appearance,” the actor stated during an interview at Amsterdam Comic-Con.

Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016.
