In case it wasn’t obvious from the season finale, the Secret Warriors are coming to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. next season.

When the super series returns for its third season, we’ll meet a number of new characters (both friend and foe) inspired by the Secret Warriors comic series—which told the story of a group of super-powered agents working with Nick Fury.

The Secret Warriors will be introduced as Coulson (Clark Gregg) searches the world for other powered people in the wake of the war with Jiaying and the Inhumans. As teased in the finale, Coulson was planning to assemble a team to deal with these new threats. However, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will discover in the new season that they’re not the only ones tracking down these new Inhumans.

As of the finale, the plan was to see Skye (Chloe Bennet) step up in a leadership position with the Secret Warriors. Skye is otherwise known as Daisy Johnson, a member of the Secret Warriors in the comics. “Some people will be excited and some people will be a little intimidated or threatened by” Skye taking a leadership role, EP Jeffrey Bell told EW at the time. “Any time a person grows or steps out of the role that they’re perceived to be a part of, it’s a problem. What happens when the student reaches the level of master or teacher? There’s a lot of good fodder for us next season with that.”
