Star Wars: Episode IX Director Fired!
One thing we have learned in the past couple of years regarding Disney’s approach to the Star Wars Movie Franchise. They have no problem firing directors not only before a film starts production but right in the middle of production as well. The latest to fall victim is director Colin Trevorrow, who was slated to direct the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX. Check out what Lucasfilm and Disney had to say about the move below and sound off with your thoughts AFTER THE JUMP.
“Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.”
Written by Simon Kinberg, Lawrence Kasdan, Rian Johnson and Michael Arndt, Star Wars: Episode IX will conclude the third trilogy of Star Wars movies that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18, 2015 and will continue on December 15 with Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Episode IX is scheduled for a May 24, 2019 release.
