After the gigantic success of the early release of the trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron this past week, it looks like J.J. Abrams may want to get in on the action early as well. Rumor has it that a Teaser Trailer for Star Wars Episode VII may be coming a lot sooner than we originally thoughts. For more on this, check out the news below and share your thoughts after the JUMP!
Just last week it was rumored that we might see the first ‘Batman v Superman‘ teaser as early as November or December, and now comes a similar rumor that you can swallow with a similarly-sized grain of salt: we could see the first teaser trailer for ‘Star Wars: Episode 7‘ by the end of this year. Wish upon a star in a galaxy far, far away.
The rumor comes from the John Williams Fan Network, which claims that the legendary ‘Star Wars’ composer already has his hands on the first ‘Episode 7′ teaser trailer and has begun work on composing the score. According to the site:
A reliable source just said JW received a trailer from JJ Abrams on Monday, Oct 20. JW has already written new Star Wars music to accompany this trailer. This new trailer music will feature new music and will be recorded on November 15 in LA with full orchestra. Still determining if the score will be recorded in London due to advanced age of composer/conductor. 14 hour flight to LA not too kind on 82 year old. This is all a secret and this message will be deleted shortly.
If the trailer is complete and ready to go with music by sometime in November, could we see the first teaser by December? The film doesn’t hit theaters until December 2015, which is pretty early to begin marketing — most films don’t begin releasing trailers and stills until seven, maybe eight months out. This isn’t the first rumor of a trailer for a film hitting a year early that we’ve heard in the last week: as previously mentioned, just last week rumor had it that we might see the first teaser for ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ before the year’s end, perhaps attached to ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,’ and while all things are certainly plausible, the skeptic in us has a hard time believing either rumor.
Then again, this is the return of ‘Star Wars,’ and something this major might have some major marketing surprises in store, including a Christmas gift for fans in the form of a teaser trailer. Who knows?
