In a striking but not unsurprising announcement today, actor Ray Park who played Snake Eyes in both Rise of Cobra and Retaliation will not reprise his role in the upcoming G.I.Joe: Snake Eyes film. Ray Park would not be appropriate for the part because it is an origin story.Lorenzo DiBonaventura revealed today. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Robert Schwentke has been selected to possibly be the director for the movie simply called G.I. Joe Snake Eyes. Schwentke has directed such films as Allegiant, Insurgent a part of the Divergent series, R.I.P.D., RED (starring G.I.Joe alumnus Bruce Willis who played Joe Colton) and FlightPlan.
