If you were a child in the 1970’s and 80’s you probably had your share of Mego action figures. Their 8″ figures featured full articulation, cloth outfits, and were known for some impressive play sets. Now the Mego’s are back as a Target Exclusive! July 29th, the first new Mego products will hit store shelves. Marty Abrams, whose family founded Mego, is bringing these classic figures back. Mego’s Mega mistake Mego was a toy company founded in 1954 by Dave Abrams. The company thrived in the 1950s and 1960s as an importer of dime store toys. In 1971 David’s Son Martin became president of the company and Mego got into the action figure business. Some of their stuff included Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, and Wizard of Oz.
