Now that Avengers: Age of Ultron has hit theaters, it is time to turn our attention to the next Marvel Blockbuster set for this summer, Ant-Man. Today we have the final promotional poster for the movie to share with you. Check it out below, and let us know if you are psyched for this movie after the JUMP!
With Avengers: Age of Ultron out of the way (but, based on the heated debates online, not entirely out of people’s minds), Marvel has turned their attention to that other superhero movie coming out this summer. A little movie called Ant-Man (we promise you, that is not the last size-related pun). Today, we have our first look at the film’s final poster, which brings the whole cast together to stare at things way off in the distance.
The original Ant-Man poster was a masterpiece of clever marketing. A stark, all-white poster with a very nothing but a very tiny Ant-Man. This new poster? Pretty much the opposite.
Marvel has crammed anyone and everyone into this Photoshop mish-mosh including Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale (who himself looks confused as to what he’s doing there), Michael Pena and even some nameless goons. If the teaser poster was all about “less is more” this new poster is all about “more is more”. Interesting also that with Age of Ultron busting up box-office records, they’re choosing to promote this movie as being from “the studio that brought you Guardians of the Galaxy”.
Strange that they seemingly want to promote this movie as having the same irreverent type of humor as Guardians, but this poster conveys absolutely none of that.
You might have only heard a little bit about Ant-Man yet, but the Marvel and Disney hype machine hasn’t even left the station yet. With about two months left towards one of Marvel’s riskiest films yet, you’re going to start hearing a lot more.
The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Ant-Man opens in theaters on July 17.
