So Nightcrawler’s return didn’t exactly pan out, but another classic and woefully underused X-Man has made a comeback: Daniel Cudmore as Colossus. Bryan Singer broke the news via his Twitter account, tweeting a picture of the ever-growing “X-Men: Days of Future Past” cast’s headshots.

The surprises among them: Daniel Cudmore, as well as Booboo Stewart and Fan Bingbing in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
Cudmore returns to the franchise after appearing in 2003’s “X2: X-Men United” and 2006’s “X-Men: The Last Stand.” His role in the former amounted to a cameo, protecting students during the break-in at the X-Mansion. His involvement in the latter was more pronounced, with Cudmore actually getting into the black leather and tossing Wolverine around a bit in a nod to their iconic move, the Fastball Special. Cudmore maybe said three lines of dialogue between the two films, leaving fans hungry for more of the longtime X-Man. With Colossus having a pretty integral role in the “Days of Future Past” source material as one of the last X-Men standing against the towering Sentinels, odds are there’ll be more Cudmore this time around.
The “X-Men” films aren’t the only franchise Cudmore is a part of. He’s recently appeared in the last four installments in the “Twilight” series as the Volturi Felix.
