RED SONJA Is Coming To 4K Blu-Ray!

The popular 1985 cult classic, ‘Red Sonja‘ is finally getting an upgrade and release to 4K Blu-Ray this month. To get fans ready for the release, Studiocanal UK has released the trailer for the film in its new upgraded format. Released back in 1985, Richard Fleischer’s Red Sonya was developed as a spin-off of Conan the Barbarian, and even though Arnold Schwarzenegger starred alongside Brigitte Nielsen as the flame-haired warrior of the title, he actually played a completely different character named Kalidor.

Brigitte Nielsen (Rocky IV, Cobra) stars as the iconic, flame-haired heroine who sets out to avenge the death of her family after being granted extraordinary powers by a mysterious vision, but only if she vows to never fall in love with a man who cannot defeat her in combat. She is tasked to stop the tyrannical Queen Gedren (Sandahl Bergman), who is in possession of a talisman that could destroy the world. On her journey she meets Kalidor (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who is gifted with unusual strength and insists on helping Sonja end the Queen’s reign of terror.
