The Versatile Career of Brian George: From Sitcoms to Superheroes and Beyond

Story by Mitchell Smith

Hello everybody, today I’m taking a dive into the acting career of Brian George. George was born in 1952 in Israel. In 1966 George’s family moved to Toronto, Canada and he would eventually studying drama at the University of Toronto. He dropped out, and joined The Second City improv. There he trained along side people like John Candy. Most people know George as Dr V.M. Koothrapali father of Raj on “The Big Bang Theory”, but you might know the extent of his other work in T.V., movies, animation, and video games.

George got his start in the eighties with a roll on “The Edison Twins”. From there he would take many small parts in popular shows such as “Married With Children”, Seinfeld, Quantum leap, Coach, Melrose Place, Blossom, One Tree Hill, Two and a Half Men, and “Star Trek”, to name a few. Television wasn’t his only rolls though. In 1985 George played Mr Fetuccini in “The Care Bears Movie”. Over the years George has had many voice rolls in popular shows such as “MASK”, The Pink Panther, Kim Possible, Avatar, Star Wars, SpongeBob, The Simpsons, and various rolls in many Batman animated series and movies. George also has been a part of the movie scene working in films like “Inspector Gadget”, and “Robin Hood: Men In Tights”.

George also has a long list of video games including Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, and Superman that he has lent his voice for. George has a well rounded resume and I’m curious to see what he way take on in the future. Have a great week everyone.
