‘SUPERNATURAL’ Will end at 300 Episodes?

As many fans of the CW network know, the ‘Supernatural‘ TV series has been one of the most successful series in the history of the network. Entering its 12th season, many have begun speculating just how long Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles will continue doing the show. Well in a recent interview Jensen Ackles said that he thinks that episode #300 is a great place to stop. “In a marathon, I keep my sights on that next mile, wherever that might be,” Ackles said in an interview with EW. “And 300’s a good number to work for.”
That episode count would take the series all the way through Season 13 and half-way through Season 14 — or possibly serve as the series finale in a truncated final season. Executive producer Bob Singer told the outlet, “We talked about wanting to be able to know when our end was, and if it was to be, let’s say, 300 episodes, we could tell a 13-episode story.” Adding, I think it would be bad for this show to just ride off in the sunset without a finale. I think we’ve earned that. I don’t know what that finale is, but we’d certainly like to do one.”
This is, of course, assuming that the series remains on the air for that long. But given the talent and network’s mutual commitment and the fervently devoted fanbase it seems pretty likely. “If we don’t make it to 300, I think Ackles and I will both be truly bummed,” Padalecki added. “When we get to 300, I think Ackles and I will think it might be time to say bye. There’s a chance that changes, but we certainly do not take it for granted that we’re going to make it to 300.”
