Exploring the Iconic K-2SO: A New Droid on the Block in Star Wars Lore

Welcome to Hondo’s Hideout. Today I’m taking a look at a Star Wars droid that came along well after the original films. As we all know C-3PO and R2D2 were instant fan favorites when they showed up in the opening scene in 1977. Since then there have been tons of memorable droids through out the movies and shows. K-2SO came onto the scene in the 2016 movie Rogue One. He was a reprogrammed security droid and would prove useful to the rebellion and gaining access to the Death Star Plans that would eventually lead to Luke Skywalker’s first real use of the force. I have in 3 different scales K-2SO, along with a couple others who may get their own write up in the near future.
The 6 inch K-2SO is from the Metal series that I bought at the Disney store before they closed it at my local mall. This figure has the most articulation out of the 3. All three have rotation of the arm and leg but the 6 inch has added knee and elbow bending. In addition all three have a great amount of movement in the head to position in various directions. I did find a K-2SO costume as well but I think he is a little short for a security droid. Over all this is a cool character and I’m happy to have all of these figures. Who liked Rouge One? Who picked up K-2SO? Make sure to check back in for more Star Wars stories and reviews.
