Elba would join an exciting cast that includes Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, and Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn. Directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee), the film aims to bring the beloved 1980s cartoon to life for a new generation.
Man-at-Arms: A Legacy Role
Man-at-Arms has been a cornerstone of the Masters of the Universe franchise since its inception. Originally voiced by Alan Oppenheimer in the 1980s animated series, the character has since been portrayed by actors including Garry Chalk, Liam Cunningham, and Antony Del Rio in various animated projects. Jon Cypher brought him to life in the 1987 live-action film alongside Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and a young Courteney Cox.
Duncan’s role as He-Man’s mentor and his dedication to protecting Castle Grayskull make him one of the franchise’s most respected and enduring figures. Casting Idris Elba in this pivotal role adds gravitas and star power to the film, which aims to blend nostalgia with fresh storytelling.
