G.I.Joe The POP-EXPOSE

Mary McDonald-Lewis G.I.Joe’s ‘Lady Jaye’!

Hello everyone. Mary McDonald-Lewis was born in 1953 in Stockton, CA. She is best known for the voice of Lady-Jaye in the original G.I. Joe series. Mary has been involved in many series over the years including Maven in the 1991 Batman series, Frau Pech in the 2011 series Grimm, and most recently the voice for I.V.A.N. in the movie Lightyear. Along with voice acting Mary is one of the top dialect coaches in the world. She was a series coach for “Leverage”, “Grimm”, and “ Once Upon a Time”.

Mary also was the voice of OnStar, which I think is pretty cool. People around the world were being directed by Lady-Jaye. When Mary was cast for Lady-Jaye she was picked for her strong, deeper voice and ended up being perfect for the part. Growing up I never had a Lady Jaye figure, but this was one of my favorite characters from the show.

Mary brought to life this strong, funny, and popular character that has stayed one of the most popular characters in the franchise. Mary just turned 69 and still loves her work, so hopefully we will see lots more from Mary McDonald-Lewis in the future. Have a great week everyone.
