NYCC 2026 Mezco Toyz Reveals: ThunderCats, Conan & Dick Tracy!
By Serpentor’s Lair Staff | October 8, 2026
New York Comic Con 2026 is officially underway, and Mezco Toyz is giving collectors another reason to pay close attention to the convention floor! From the legendary heroes of ThunderCats to the sword-and-sorcery world of Conan and the classic detective adventures of Dick Tracy, Mezco’s booth is bringing together characters from different generations of pop culture.
The annual convention is taking place October 8–11 at the Javits Center in New York City, bringing toy companies, comic publishers, entertainment studios, and thousands of fans together for four days of collectibles and pop culture excitement.
For collectors who grew up during the 1980s, Mezco’s combination of familiar characters and modern action figure craftsmanship is particularly interesting.
ThunderCats Remain a Major Attraction for Mezco Collectors
ThunderCats fans have plenty of reasons to follow Mezco Toyz in 2026. The company previously previewed its One:12 Collective Lion-O during San Diego Comic-Con, giving collectors an early look at its interpretation of the iconic leader of the ThunderCats.
That figure brought together the recognizable Lion-O appearance, including his flowing mane, signature costume, and legendary Sword of Omens, with the more detailed presentation associated with Mezco’s premium collectible figures.
Mezco has also explored the franchise through its 5 Points line, which emphasizes a more traditional action figure experience. Earlier convention displays featured familiar ThunderCats characters, demonstrating the company’s interest in different approaches to the classic property.
With ThunderCats represented in the NYCC 2026 Mezco booth coverage, the franchise remains an important attraction for collectors who want to see how these projects develop.
One important distinction: The earlier Lion-O presentation does not establish a new NYCC release date, preorder date, or price. Those details should be treated as unconfirmed unless Mezco makes a separate announcement.
Conan Brings Sword-and-Sorcery Action to NYCC 2026
Another property represented at the Mezco Toyz booth is Conan, the legendary barbarian created by Robert E. Howard.
Conan has become a natural fit for Mezco’s One:12 Collective approach, which combines elaborate costumes, accessories, interchangeable components, and detailed character designs.
Previous Mezco releases and announcements have included interpretations such as King Conan and Conan the Conqueror, demonstrating the company’s continued investment in the world of the famous Cimmerian warrior.
For fans of classic fantasy, sword-and-sorcery movies, and vintage comic book adventures, Conan offers a different kind of collecting experience from the superhero and science-fiction properties usually associated with convention reveals.
The presence of Conan at NYCC 2026 is another reminder of the character’s enduring appeal across generations of collectors.
Dick Tracy Returns to the Collecting Spotlight
One of the more intriguing properties represented in this year’s booth coverage is Dick Tracy.
The legendary comic-strip detective has appeared across decades of comics, television, animation, film, and merchandise, making him a familiar character to several generations of pop culture fans.
For collectors who remember the excitement surrounding the 1990 Dick Tracy movie and its accompanying merchandise, seeing the property represented in contemporary toy coverage carries a strong nostalgic appeal.
While the earliest Dick Tracy adventures date back much further, the character’s distinctive world of crime fighters, colorful villains, and exaggerated visual designs makes it an interesting fit for modern collectibles.
The current booth reports establish Dick Tracy as one of the properties represented, although specific product specifications, release dates, and pricing require additional official confirmation.
Why Mezco Toyz Continues to Appeal to Retro Collectors
What makes Mezco especially interesting is the way the company brings characters from different eras together under one collecting umbrella.
ThunderCats speaks directly to fans of classic Saturday morning animation. Conan represents generations of fantasy fiction, movies, and comic books. Dick Tracy connects collectors to the golden age of newspaper comics and the colorful merchandise of the early 1990s.
These properties may come from very different backgrounds, but they share something important: each has a recognizable identity and a loyal audience that has continued to support the characters long after their original popularity peaked.
Modern collectibles give longtime fans another opportunity to revisit these properties through more detailed interpretations than were often possible in earlier toy lines.
