Read MoreThe 1984 G.I.Joe ‘Recondo‘ was the only figure I got this year. He is a very cool figure and I was happy to get him but I would have liked more from 1984. I’m sure most of you have heard my Spirit story and how I wanted him so bad. My brother had Scrap Iron and the Rattler, but outside of those I had nothing. My grandparents got me Recondo for my 9th birthday and he was awesome from head to toe. This was a very unique individual. He had the signature…

Read MoreToday my discussion is on three of my favorite modern G.I.Joe figures. In the modern era line there were a great deal of upgrades on most of my favorite Joes. There were 3 figures all together I found in a mad hunt and they are the last 3 figures I bought at retail, Lifeline, Airtight, and Sci-Fi. These are 3 of my favorite figures and I was sad the direction Hasbro took on selling action figures because I missed out on so many of my favorite characters. First off Lifeline was an awesome upgrade, I…

Read MoreHector Garrido passed away last week peacefully at the age of 92. Hector was responsible for most of the 1980’s G.I. Joe card back artwork. Although Hector had his hand in other things such as Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and even Time Magazine, I will always be grateful for his contribution to G.I Joe. The figures were awesome in the 1980’s and going to the store was tough for any Joe fan to choose just one character if it was your lucky day to get one as a little gift. One of…

Read MoreWelcome to the outpost. Today I’m looking at some modern G.I.Joes. The 2008, set number 10, comic 2 pack featured the Hard Master and Snake Eyes apprentice. I never was into the comics as a kid and I think it was mostly because they were not readily available in the small town I grew up in, but I got into them a little, well at least reading them when they released the comic packs in 2008. They released a huge amount of awesome comic 2 packs this year and the Hard Master pack was one…
Read MoreWelcome to the outpost. Today I’m checking out the 1985 G.I.Joe Check Point playset. This is one of my favorite mini playsets. I did not have one as a kid, but I was able to piece one together as an adult collector. I had everything but the clipboard and one day I was going through some parts and low and behold there it was, I had one all along to complete the set. This set is small enough so it doesn’t take up a ton of space, but has a lot going…

Read MoreToday I’m going to check out the G.I.Joe Tiger Force sub group as a whole. I had a couple as a kid, the Tiger Paw, Dusty, and the Tiger Fly that came with Recondo.
