A few weeks ago, we heard that Rachel McAdams was in talks with Marvel for a leading role in Doctor Strange opposite Benedict Cumberbatch. Since then, all’s been quiet on the Sorcerer Supreme front, with no official confirmation or other casting news. But today brings a small update, in the form of an interview with McAdams, who confirms that she is in talks with Marvel, though it’s still a bit early.

The Los Angeles Times published a great profile on McAdams, who is currently starring in True Detective Season 2 and Southpaw, which hit theaters this weekend. The end of the profile reveals that McAdams is “considering” a role in Doctor Strange, with the star adding, “it’s still super-early days, and I don’t know where that’s gonna go, if it’s gonna go anywhere at all.” McAdams also says that she’s not a “comic book snob,” and she seems open to the idea.

As the profile points out, McAdams would join a list of great women who appeared in Marvel films before her, including Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Elizabeth Olsen and more recently, Tilda Swinton, who confirmed to us in an interview that she is indeed playing the Ancient One in Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
