“Remembering Matthew Perry: A Heartfelt Tribute to the Beloved ‘Friends’ Star”

Story by Mitchell Smith
Hello everybody. We have sad news to report as actor Mathew Perry was found dead at 54. Perry was born in 1969 in Williamstown, Ma. Best known as Chandler on the hit show Friends, leaves the world way too soon. Perry’s mother was the press secretary for Canadian Prime minister Pierre Trudeau so Perry would end up growing up in Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal. Perry was a top ranked junior tennis player but had an interest in acting. Perry’s parents divorced before he turned 1 year old and at age 15 he decided to move to LA with his father, who was a successful actor, to pursue acting himself.
He got his first gig in 1979 and would appear in many popular shows through the eighties like Silver Spoons, Highway to Heaven, Growing Pains, and Charles in Charge. He also had a main roll as Chazz Russell in the 1987 show Boys Will be Boys. Perry made an appearance on 90210 and shortly after would get the main roll on Friends. Although Perry is known for TV he did hit the big screen now and again. His first gig was in 1988 as Fred Robert’s in A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. He was also in The Whole Nine Yards and The Whole Ten Yards with cast mates such as Bruce Willis and Amanda Peet.
Perry had a successful career and this is a tragic loss at such a young age. Perry will be missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to his close friends and family. RIP Mr. Perry.
