“Retro Review: Exploring the Unique Charm of the 2007 Sigma6 Dark Ninja Master”

Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m taking a look back at a 2007 G.I. Joe Sigma 6 figure. The Sigma6 were short Lived from 2005-2007. I remember seeing them and thinking they were expensive so the only figure I picked up was Spirit who at the time was an o-ring figure I had wanted for 20 years and this was why I picked him up. The design was interesting on these. It wasn’t the normal realistic look of the original eighties Joes or even the nineties Joes that took on a more adventurous look.

This line took on its own identity and anyone who collects Sigma6 probably has a profound appreciation for the GI Joe franchise going back to the 1964 days of the original 12 inch. Sigma6 came with a cartoon to compliment the figures and I think it was a pretty good series. After several cool figures of the main characters along came this wild looking guy in 2007, The Dark Ninja Master. I’ll be honest I don’t have this guy and I just kinda discovered him today. Maybe I looked at him in the past but I didn’t remember him from images or remember seeing him in the cartoon.

He has some wild hair that looks like it’s from one of the Trolls from the eighties. The Dark Ninja Master also has the new feature Kung Fu grip which was a spring added to the hand to open and tightly hold accessories. It was not like the Kung Fu grip of the 12 inch Joe. This figure comes with a lot of weapons and accessories. He is interesting and I’m going to be looking for one of these now, only because I have a lot of the other figures and I think he would be cool to have. Who collected or still collects Sigma6? Who had this dude? Make sure to check back next week for the next discussion at The Outpost.
