‘Suicide Squad Isekai’ Release Date Announced for Max

The anticipation is over for fans of The Suicide Squad as Max has unveiled the release date for the new anime series, Suicide Squad Isekai. Starting June 27, viewers can stream the first three episodes of this exciting new adaptation. Following this, new episodes will be released every Thursday, culminating in a season finale on August 15. Despite the familiarity with the Suicide Squad’s antics, this series promises unexpected twists that will keep audiences on their toes.
Suicide Squad Isekai introduces us to Harley Quinn (voiced by Anna Nagase), Deadshot (voiced by Reigo Yamaguchi), and other team members embarking on a perilous mission. With explosive devices strapped to their necks, creativity and cunning become their only allies in this dangerous endeavor. The storyline retains the essence of the classic Suicide Squad tales but is set apart by Wit Studio’s distinctive visual style, promising an unforgettable experience for fans.
A recent trailer unveiled Peacemaker (voiced by Takehito Koyasu), a ruthless vigilante willing to achieve peace through any means necessary. Unlike the live-action portrayal by John Cena, this anime version of Peacemaker remains unapologetically violent, even at the risk of jeopardizing the team’s mission.
The Suicide Squad’s rise to fame was significantly boosted by the 2016 film directed by David Ayer, featuring Jared Leto as the Joker and introducing Margot Robbie’s iconic Harley Quinn. With over $700 million in global box office earnings, the film solidified the team’s place in popular culture. Now, Suicide Squad Isekai aims to build on that legacy with a fresh, animated perspective from Wit Studio. Whether this iteration will see the team succeed or meet a tragic end remains to be seen.
Catch Suicide Squad Isekai on Max and Hulu starting June 27.
