Lyman Frank Baum was born May 15th 1856 – and passed away on May 6th 1919. Baum was an entrepreneur and an author best know for writing the Wizard of Oz. Baum who was born right here in Central New York in the town of Chittenango. Still today there is a yellow brick road and every year they hold an Oz fest to celebrate Baum and the Wizard of Oz.
